AICE Media Studies Planning Blog

Hello again, now that I have completed my research, I am ready to start planning for my commercial. I am going to need actors, props, a location to film, writers for my script, a schedule, a production manager, and a backup plan if all goes wrong.

Actors
  • As for actors, I am going to use my family members due to the fact that they are virtually available at all times of the day.
  • My family is a great pick for actors because they are a diverse group of people. My brother is small and light-skinned. My father is tall, brown-skinned, and not from America, so he can represent the non-American audiences. My mother is a larger sized woman, my sister is a college student and I am a teenager, so most groups are met.
  • The actor will be dressed in their everyday attires, include my mother's work clothes, which allows her to represent the millions of essential workers.
Props
  • When it comes to Props, I own many Apple products and will use them in the making of this commercial.
  • My family members also own their own apple products including my father, so he will be given a pair of AirPods for this commercial.
Location
  • I am going to use my room to take the shots for the B-roll portion of the commercial as it can become very dark at night and would create a great contrast of color when I use my ring light for lighting.
  • As for the shots involving my family members, I will record their takes with a mix of outside and inside shots for a more fluid commercial.
Writers for my Script and Production Manager
  • Because I am doing the project for my class, I will be writing the script and taking the responsibilities of the production manager.
Schedule
  • For convince, filming will take place every Saturday and Sunday starting tomorrow. Making the dates 10/24 - 10/25, 10/31 - 11/1, 11/7 - 11/8, and so on and so forth.
Backup
  • If all goes wrong, then I will use my neighbors as my actors, I will create my own version of Apple products, I will film outside if needed, and if dates interfere with my actor's personal schedules, then I cant film at any time on any day of the week.
