 Schedule Because of my complex and tentative track schedule, the only days I will be able to film are Sundays. I have practice Monday through Friday from 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., which only allows me to film after 6:30 p.m.(the time I get home). I have Sundays off completely, which means that I can start filming at 9 a.m. This allows me to have a day filled with filming so I can reshoot the same scene at different times of the day and choose which one to use in post-production. 3/7/21 - Filming begins. All scenes involving the intruder(Jalil) will be filmed on this day. Jalil also runs tracks s this is one of his few free days, which means that scenes 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 16. 3/14/21 - Filming continues.       For the two other genres, I chose to study I selected horror and comedy. I came to decision by first analyzing what genres are most prominent in thrillers. From this statement, I found that action, horror, and comedy are the most prominent genres within a thriller film. Then, I looked at what do I personally find the most important in a thriller. From that, I found that I find a blend of horror and comedy are the most important things in a thriller film. Horror CAMS: General camera shots are close-ups, wide shots, and point of view shots. Common camera angles are low angle, canted angle, and high angle. Common movements are tracking, Steadicam, and zooming.  CLAMPS: Common costumes are costumes showing deterioration over time. Common lighting is lowkey lighting. Common acting is tense and suspense-filled.      Similar to my experience on Art of the Titles, my experience with Watch the Titles was a fun one. When opening the website my first instinct was to compare it to the website I had viewed five minutes prior. Because of that I instantly noticed a sleeker interface, which showed less information but in a cleaner way. The last website deemed cluttered compared to this one and I was very appreciative of it because it opened my eyes to a common title mistake, clutteredness. From this, I understand that when creating my titles, it is imperative that I give them the proper amount of spacing from each other and also my background. It should be a clean-cut contrast between the titles and my background. The titles should no feel like their overshadowing the background. It should feel like the titles are sharing and complementing the background. If possible move with it in the sense that they should flow at the same speed.       I consider myself a very creative individual but I understood that when it came down to designing a title for my opening sequence I was going to new help. Therefore, I decided to visit the title examing website, Art of the Title. I knew the website to have all of the major title sequences from major movies, tv shows, and even video games. In addition to this, this website had backgrounds and interviews with the individual designers. From when I opened the website I was in awe at everything it had to offer. There was so much and I didn't know where to begin looking for inspiration. The first thing I was to look around at everything on the opening page as I had figured that the website runners wouldn't put something on the front page of the website if it wasn't popular.       For my opening sequence, I decide to choose the thriller genre to make a movie. I went with this choice because of my love for the thriller genre and all it entails. From the scares to comedic moments, the thriller genre just seemed perfect for the story I wanted to tell. It was extremely hard and easy to get to this point due to a multitude of reasons. To make a list of everything easy about it though, would prove a challenge. The only thing I would've considered truly 'easy' about making this decision was that I had to make it on my own. Because I chose not to work with anyone on this opening assignment, I wasn't subjected to anyone else's opinions other than my own.      I have come to an end of analyzing thriller films with The First Purge. This movie came out in the summer of 2018 and was infamous for "ruining" the Purge trilogy. Personally, I loved the film for a multitude of reasons. From the political commentary to the near-perfect action sequences, I, unlike many critics, found this movie highly favorable. The First Purge received so much hate because of the change it introduced to the series. It changed the government's motive from killing poor people to killing poor black people. The change spawned hate because the last three movies stuck with the original motive and the change seemed unwarranted and useless.      One of my favorite elements of the thriller genre that will be present in both The First Purge and my opening sequence is the use of great action scenes.       Continuing my analysis of thriller movies, I have arrived at Get Out, Jordan Peele's first take in directing and writing in this genre. This movie came out in the spring of 2017 and was famous for its soundtrack, specifically, the song Redbone by Childish Gambino. Opposite to Us, Get Out uses social commentary more to its advantage. Instead of the multitude of gore-filled deaths, there are subtle hints of how society has treated African Americans. It was praised for this and received extremely well among all audiences.       The main thriller element of this movie that will be integrated into my opening is to connect you to the character in some way. In Get Out, the main character is viewed differently because of his race. This was something that many African Americans experience at least one time in their life.       To begin analyzing the elements of this genre in individual movies, I started off with my favorite thriller, Us directed by Jordan Peele. This movie came out in the spring of 2019 and I had the best experience viewing it for the first time in an IMAX theater. This movie uses the scares and horror component of thrillers to its absolute advantage. There are several brutal kills with plenty of gore in this film. That is something not as prominent in thriller films but Us do follow the outline of thrillers in other ways.      Like most thrillers and eventually mine, there are aspects of Us that tell you exactly what is happening. A prime example of this is the external conflict between the characters.  The doppelgangers of humanity are killing their counterparts, whom they are tethered to.  Hello, in this blog I will discuss my two pitches and which one I ultimately chose. Due to the opening sequence of my film being allotted 2 minutes, I knew that I had to chose a genre of film that could create suspense and grab the attention of the viewer. I thought about showing the ending of the film to start it off, but that posed a multitude of problems. For one, I wouldn’t be able to show the truly beginning of the film, which would go against the rubric. Secondly, it would be hard for audience to have a sense of relief for the ending the character received due to them not being familiar with this character and no bond being established. Thirdly, I was still on the edge on whether I wanted my protagonist to get the upper hand on my antagonist or nobody wins and everyone loses.    Hello, my name is Thomas Smith and I am a 10th grade student at Fort Lauderdale High School. This is information you might recognize from my previous projects such as my Music Video or my Commercial. Today I will start on my introduction to a new form of media I have yet to complete: an opening to a short film. Similarly to most of my other projects, I will be completing this opening on my own, without the help of any classmates. I chose to go this route mainly for two reasons: 1.) I didn’t want my grade to become dependent upon anyone else but my self. 2.) I didn’t want to get stuck completing most of the assignment by myself when I had teammates at my disposal.
